Still more pictures

These are more pictures found loose in that same box as the previous pictures.  They cover a wide variety of years and subjects.  Some are identified while others are not.  If you can help with the identifications of the unknowns, please leave a comment.

Della Cole Owens Young
Della was my maternal grandfather's aunt.  She and her first husband had a farm in Milford.  My grandfather stayed with them for a short time when he was growing up.  When she and her second husband got to an age that they could not run the farm, they sold it to my grandfather but continued to live in the house which was divided to suit two families.

 Thelma Ferguson Pidgeon
Thelma was my maternal 1st cousin 2x removed.  She lived her entire life in Oneonta, Otsego County, New York.

Elmer again!  He's posing, on 5 March 1945, with three unknowns at the Griffith Park Observatory.  You can see the Hollywoodland sign in the hills behind his head.

Sisters Olive, Florence, and Beatrice Rose with maternal grandmother, Alice Clayton More.

Children of Obed and Luella Cure.  Obed bought Elbert's farm in Pine Hill.  From left to right are Pearl, Everett, and Frasier Cure.

Doris is in the three pictures above, possibly the fourth picture as well.  Who Doris is, I don't know.  Do you?

Gladys on the boat dock.  No, I do not know who Gladys is or if she is family or friend.  This photo, and the one below, was made at Caroga Lake, in Fulton County, at New York State's Adirondack State Park.

Harriet Julia Camp Baird

In the box of loose photos and scrapbook pages, I found an envelope with the name Harriet on it. This Harriet was Harriet Julia Camp Baird and this is what I found inside:

Harriet Julia Camp Baird on the right
and her cousin Katharine Rose Schnack Jones Gall Hammon on the left.

I think this is a school picture of a young Harriet but there is nothing written on the back and I have no other identified photo to compare it to.  It was in the envelope marked Harriet.

I'm guessing this is Pike's Peak in Colorado.

On the reverse side of this one is written, "Sunday 1953 Harriet at Schnacks."

Christmas 1958

Harriet was the daughter of Leonard George and Beatrice May Rose Camp.  Beatrice, also known as Bea, was the sister of my grandmother, Olive Letha Rose Schnack.

In another box of memorabilia, I found:

Unsourced newspaper clipping

You might remember Beatrice writing many letters to her sister, Olive, about this darling little girl!

The following postcards were in the envelope with Harriet's name on it.  I've added them in order of postmark dates.

This postcard picture is from Silver Springs, Florida.  Harriet was impressed with the reptile farm and was looking forward to their next tourist attraction, Six Gun Territory.

July 12

Hi Auntie Olie and Uncle Walt,

The beautiful flowers are summer poinsettias and are they ever pretty.  We had a beautiful trip in glass bottom boats.  They cruise down Silver River where we saw wild pigs, monkeys, and alligators.  We also toured Ross Allen Reptile Farm and watched them milk a rattler.

Tomorrow Six Gun territory and then home.

Love,
Jim, Harriet, and David

This postcard picture is from Stone Mountain, Georgia.  On the reverse side, Harriet tells Olive about their plans to camp at Ocala National Forest in Florida.

Hi Aunt Olie and Uncle Walt,

This has been a beautiful camp area for a week.  The Confederate carving of Lee, Jackson, and Davis is here; absolutely stunning.  We are going to camp in Ocala National Forest for a couple days.

Love, Harriet
