Angie Preston Tupper

Angie was the eldest of four children born to Bruce Smith Preston and Carrie Eugenia Stevens Preston. She was raised at Roxbury, on Locust Street, where her father was a carpenter. Angie, a Jean line cousin, married to George Wheeler Tupper, a Robert line cousin, on 16 February 1916 at Roxbury. They made their home first with her widowed father. Her husband served overseas during World War I, and upon his return, they made their home at Altamont, New York where her husband was the proprietor of a sporting goods store. They returned to Roxbury about 1930 where her husband was an insurance agent and where Angie was a United States Post Office clerk. About 1950, they made their home at Schenectady, New York but by 1966, they had returned permanently to Roxbury where her husband was an auctioneer. Angie was a member of Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church, Guild for Christian Service, Abigail Harper Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and Delaware County Historical Society. Angie was the acting assistant secretary of the John More Association from 1933 to 1935 and a member of the Permanent Committee from 1940 until her death. Angie and George were the parents of one child, Elizabeth Preston Tupper.
