Kathryn Lura Perkins Seacord

Died 20 July 2017 at El Cajon, San Diego County, California

Kathryn was the second of three children born to Clifford Alan Perkins and Gladys Gay Gillis Perkins. She was raised at El Paso, Texas and Chula Vista, California where her father was a United States government Immigration Inspector and later an immigration office manager. Her mother died when she was three years old and she was raised by her father’s second wife, Ruth A. Moreton Perkins. Kathryn married to widow Wilson Ralph Seacord on 30 May 1941 at Chula Vista, California. They made their home first at Needles, California where her husband was a high school coach and shop teacher. They relocated to Naval Air Station North Island at Coronado, California about 1942 where her husband was a Lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserves. Soon thereafter, they relocated to Chula Vista, second largest city in the San Diego metropolitan area, where her husband was a manager at Magneto Sales and Service Company. Her husband died in 1977 and Kathryn married next to Frederick Robert Oberschulte, Jr. on 28 September 1985. They made their home at 168 2^nd Avenue at Chula Vista. Kathryn and Wilson were the parents of three children, two daughters and one son. Kathryn and Frederick had no children. Kathryn's cremains were scattered at sea as was Wilson's. She is John More Association Edward line cousin #M85843 and the wife of my fourth cousin, twice removed.
