Irene Jones Northrup

Born 24 June 1943 at Walton, Delaware County, New York
Died 7 August 2002 at Walton, Delaware County, New York

Irene was the daughter of Gerald W. Jones and Clara Stokes Jones. She was raised at Walton where her father was a stock clerk in a woodworking factory and her mother was a silk mill weaver. She was a graduate of Walton Central School and then resided for a time at New York City about 1958. Irene married to Lonald Ray Baxter on 31 December 1960 at the home of her parents at Walton. They made their home first at Masonville, New York. I found a record for one child, a son, born to them in 1961. The marriage ended in divorce. Irene married next to James Henry Northrup on 13 December 1997 at Walton. They had no children. She was buried in a Northrup family plot at Walton Cemetery where her husband joined her in 2014. She was the wife of my fourth cousin once removed.

Elinor was the third of six children and the only daughter of Frank Abel Northrup and Florence Emma Jacobson Northrup. She was raised at Colchester where her father was, presumably, a dairy farmer. Elinor married to Royce Emmons Green on 30 April 1955 at Trout Creek, New York. They made their home at Walton. Elinor and Royce were the parents of five children; four daughters and one son. The marriage ended in divorce and Elinor married next to Calvin Stephen Pritchard on 5 February 2005 at Walton. Elinor and Calvin had no children and that marriage, too, ended in divorce. Elinor was buried at Walton Cemetery. She was my fourth cousin once removed.

Ursula Jones More

Born 22 August 1825 at Walton, Delaware County, New York
Died 22 December 1891 at Walton, Delaware County, New York

Ursula was the daughter of Joshua Jones and Anna Miner Jones. She was raised at Walton where her father, for an unknown number of years, had a cabinet shop on Stockton Avenue. I believe he later took up farming and died sometime before 1850 when his wife appeared, on that year's census, to farm a piece of land adjacent to that of David More, Ursula’s future father-in-law. Ursula married to William Pitt More on 16 March 1854 at Walton. They made their home at Walton where William was the owner and operator of a farm. Ursula and William had no children. She died as a result of grippe, an old term for influenza. Ursula was buried in a More family plot at Walton Cemetery. Her sister, Emily, who married to Elton Romeo Wolcott, was buried the following year on one side of her grave and Ursula’s husband was buried on the other in 1893. Ursula was the wife of my first cousin five times removed.
