1926 3 7 Olive Rose to Elbert Rose

Spelling and grammar may change as I transcribe.  This letter was written from Albany, Albany County, New York.

My grandmother, 'Olive' Letha Rose Schnack wrote this letter to her 'Dad', Elbert Rose.  'Aunt Clyde' was Clydis M. Clough Rose, the wife of Elbert's brother, Arthur Ezra Rose.

Dear Dad,

Probably you will be surprised to get another letter from me so soon but I have to talk money to you.  You know I owe Dr. Graham $15.  Well, I got another bill from Dr. Mullens yesterday which included his visit to me when I was sick the other day.  It was $38.  I have paid Dr. Worth so when you get this and the dentist paid, we will be even again.  I do wish you would make a big effort to pay that $53 even if you have to take some out of the bank.  If you will pay it, I will go without a summer hat and dress.  I am not going to soiree dances so I

will be in just that much.

Be sure to apply for a pass for me to come home on.  While I'm there we will decide whether I shall teach or not.

Friday night I ate at Aunt Clyde's.  After supper I washed my hair and went to bed and slept until 10:30 the next morning.  Please answer right away.

Love,
Olive
