Dear Olive, Walt, and all,

No news is good news and I've been trusting in that.  I hope you people are all O.K. now.  You sure have had a siege of it.  How are you and Jr. now, Olive?  Up and around yet?

We are very busy during this season of the year and I have very little time even to write.  My work makes heavy demands on me in the summer but hope I can get in some bathing next month.

Mother, you know, had a very serious operation; an 8 lb. tumor and all her organs were removed.  She's home here in the trailer now and is

fine except that she can't sleep.  Its two nights now.

The place is fairly busy and keeps Russell on the job.  He is trying to sell it so he will be free to go in the Navy.  They want everyone they can lay hands on and have raised the age from 17 to 50 years.  They'll probably catch up with Russell any day now.  So, its best he sell the place as soon as he can and be prepared.  He wants to enlist anyway.

Well, all for now.  Here's hoping to receive a line from you soon and we hope its good news.

Our love to you all.

Always,
Helen
