Jennie was
the youngest of five children born to George Wheeler and Dolly Louisa More Wheeler. Her father died in 1871 when she was two-years
of age and her mother relocated the family to Roxbury, New York where Jennie
was raised. Her mother died in 1893 and Jennie relocated to Harpersfield in
Stamford, New York where she resided with her maternal aunt, Maria Laraway More Underwood. At that place, Jennie was a dry goods store
clerk. Jennie married to widower Archibald Gilbert Kendall on 17 September 1913
at Weehawken, New Jersey. They made their home first at Hutchinson, Kansas
where her husband was a manager. They relocated to Mason City, Iowa about 1920
where her husband was a chief clerk with Jacob E. Decker and Sons. After her
husband’s death in 1929, she returned to Roxbury. There she resided as a
companion; first in the household of a cousin, Anna Palen, and later in the household of
her nephew, George Wheeler Tupper, and his wife, Angeline Preston Tupper. Jennie and Archibald had no children. Jennie died at Delhi Sanitorium at Delhi,
New York where she had been a patient for several months. Jennie is buried next to her husband at Stamford Cemetery at Stamford.
Jennie was my third cousin three times removed.
