Jessie was the youngest of six children born to Charles Mallory Shutts and Jennette E. McKenzie Shutts. She was raised at Stamford where her father was a farmer. He died when she was only six years of age and her mother then managed the farm. Jessie married to Robert PayneCorbin on 6 July 1909 at Stamford. They made their home first at Stamford where she was a school teacher and her husband was a florist. They relocated to Albany, New York about 1920 where she was a public school teacher and her husband was a private family gardener. They relocated to Bethlehem, New York about 1925 where she was a school teacher and her husband was first a florist and later a private estate superintendent. They relocated to Rensselaer, New York about 1935 where her husband was the owner and operator of a neighborhood gas and grocery store known as Corbin Gas Station and Arrowhead Store; and where Jessie was the principal of a West Albany school. After the death of her husband in 1961, she and their son managed the family business. Sometime after the death of her son in 1972, she relocated to Baldwinsville. Jessie and Robert were the parents of one child, Jay Arthur Corbin. Jessie is buried next to her husband at Stamford Cemetery at Stamford. She was my second cousin twice removed.
