Frederick
was the son of Frederick William Bradley and Olivia Morgan Tams Bradley. During
his earliest years, the family resided at Trenton where his father was a
structural steel engineer. His parents divorced sometime before 1935 and his
mother married again. His step-father, Carlton Smith, assumed responsibility
for raising him to maturity. The family resided at Ewing, New Jersey where his
step-father was a grain and feed manufacturer. Frederick graduated from Trenton Central
High School in 1945. As a high school senior, he enlisted in the United States Naval Reserve Corps. and served as a Pharmacist Mate at the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda, Maryland. He graduated from Colgate University at Hamilton, New York
in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He graduated from
Harvard Business School at Boston, Massachusetts in 1955 with a Master's Degree
in Business Administration. Frederick married to Mabel Elizabeth White on 25
October 1958 at Walton, New York. They made their home at Westfield, New
Jersey. He began his career at W. R. Grace and Company in its South American
passenger transportation businesses and later worked as a consultant in the
aeronautical industry. He joined with The First National City Bank of New York
(later known as Citibank) in 1958 and at the time of his retirement in the
early 1990s, he was a Senior Vice President responsible for the bank's global
airline and aerospace business. After retirement, he was a board member with
American West Airlines and AerCo Limited. He was a director of First Citicorp
Life Insurance Company; Institute of Air Transport Paris, France; and president
of International Air Transport Association's (IATA) International Airline
Training Fund of the United States. Frederick died at Center for Hope Hospice.
He was
buried at Walton Cemetery with his wife who predeceased him in 2012. Frederick
and Mabel were the parents of two children, both daughters. Frederick was the
husband of my fourth cousin twice removed.
