Her mother died when she was but ten years of age and her father never remarried. Louise was raised by her father at San Jose Township in the city of Pomona where her father was a hotel clerk. She graduated from Pomona High School, Pomona Junior College, and La Verne College at La Verne, California. About 1940, she relocated to Winterhaven, California where she was a grammar school teacher. Louise taught school at El Centro, California in Imperial Valley for six years and in Coachella, California for eleven years. Later, she taught Head Start in Pomona for six years. She retired in 1973. Louise was a member of National Retired Teachers Association, Pomona Valley Historical Society, Pomona Roamers Club, and Pomona Valley Travelers. Louise married to Kenneth Linton Thomas on 29 March 1953 at Pomona. He was a custodian at Pomona College and they made their home at 1461 South Park Avenue at Pomona. Louise and Kenneth had no children and he died in 1985. A resident of Jefferson Avenue at Pomona, Louise died at Woods Health Services at nearby La Verne. Her body was donated to the Loma Linda School of Medical Science and her remains later buried at Montecito Memorial Park at Colton, California. Louise was John More Association cousin #59121 and my fourth cousin twice removed.
