Esther was the daughter of Asa George Kimball and Katherine Frew Kimball. She was raised and educated at Brushton, a village in the town of Moira, New York. After graduating from Brushton High School in 1924, she earned a teaching degree from New York State College at Albany, New York. She was a public school teacher at Johnstown, New York when she married to Orrin Penfield Dales on 1 April 1929 in the Chapel of Saint Saviour at Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine in Manhattan, New York. Orrin and Esther had no children. They made their home at Passaic, first on Gregory Avenue and later purchased a home at 49 Idaho Avenue. Esther was a substitute teacher and her husband was a faculty member at Passaic High School. Esther died 14-months after her husband's demise and was buried next to him at Sunnyside Cemetery in her hometown of Brushton. Many of her family and extended family are also buried at that place. Esther is John More Association Jean Line cousin #M58423 and the wife of my fourth cousin twice removed.
