Helen Winifred Doud Ives



Born 3 August 1907 at North Bangor, Franklin County, New York
Died 15 January 2006 at Lake George, Warren County, New York

Helen was the daughter of Henry Irving Doud and Alice Louise Plumb Doud. She was raised at Bangor where her father was the owner and operator of a mill. The family relocated to Malone, New York about 1917 where her father was the owner and operator of a produce market. Helen became a teacher and was a music program supervisor at Middletown, New York in 1926 and 1927. She returned to Malone in 1928 where she continued her work as a music program supervisor. Helen married to Ralph Samuel Ives, Junior on 7 April 1942 at Salinas, California. As her husband was serving overseas with the United States Army, she returned to her home at Malone. Helen and Ralph were the parents of one child, Caroline Cushman Ives. Her husband died in 1944 at Saidor, Papua New Guinea. His remains were buried in the Philippines. Helen never remarried. In 1993, she resided with her sister, Alice Louise Doud, at San Luis Obispo, California. Some time after that, Alice relocated to Meriden, Connecticut and Helen relocated to Lake George. Helen is buried at North BangorCemetery at North Bangor. She is John More Association Jean Line cousin #M542132 and was the wife of my fifth cousin once removed.
