Mabel Elizabeth White Bradley

Died 9 October 2012 at Summit, Union County, New Jersey

Most commonly known as Elizabeth, she was named for her paternal grandmother, Mabel E. White. Elizabeth was the younger of two daughters born to Edward Smith White and Margaret Fleming More White. She was raised at Walton, on Townsend Street, where her father was the editor of The Reporter. Elizabeth graduated from Walton High School in 1946. She attended Sweet Briar College at Sweet Briar, Virginia; graduated from Cornell University at Ithaca, New York; and graduated from University of Pennsylvania’s Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth married to Frederick William Bradley, Junior on 25 October 1958 at Walton. Elizabeth and Frederick made their home at Westfield, New Jersey where her husband was engaged with First National City Bank of New York. Until their children were born, Elizabeth worked with the Veterans Administration and then at Children’s Specialized Hospital at Mountainside, New Jersey. She was a member of College Women’s Club of Westfield, Tri Delta Sorority, and Saint Paul’s Church. She was active with Girl Scouts and enjoyed opera and travel. Elizabeth and Frederick were the parents of two children, both daughters. A resident of Westfield, Elizabeth died at Overlook Medical Center at Summit. She and her husband were buried together in Walton Cemetery at Walton, New York on 24 August 2015. Elizabeth was my fourth cousin twice removed.
