Died 14 July
2010 at Weiden in der Oberpfalz, Bavaria, Germany
Heidi was
the first of five children born to Hans Hugo Bahr and Margarete Altmann Bahr. She was born in West Prussia at Deutsch Krone, Zachodniopomorskie, Poland which is now known as Wałcz.
At the end of World War II, the family fled to Germany and settled at
Bremerhaven where her father was engaged as a teacher. Heidi traveled to
upstate New York in the fall of 1961 to meet her future in-laws and
visit Roxbury, the
home town of her fiancé. She made many new friends during this two-month
visit before returning to her home. Heidrun married to Philip Preston Caswell on
17 August 1962 at Bremerhaven, Germany. Her social security
number was issued by the state of California in 1963 and she accompanied
her husband on some of his United States Army assignments. Heidi
also accompanied her husband on at least some of his trips to Alaska and the Yukon
after he retired from his military career. Heidi and her husband cared for a
coatamundi
and a cougar but where or when I do not know. Heidi and Philip had no
children and her husband preceded her in death in 2005. After his death,
she sold most of their property in New York and took up residence near
her youngest brother in Germany. Her last known address was at Kohlberg,
Esslingen, Baden-Wurttemberg. She died at a hospital in nearby Weiden. Her remains were cremated and
given to the care of family. Heidi, as the wife of Philip, was John More
Association Jean line cousin #M56241.
