William was
the son of Albert A. Pickens and Anna Whitney Pickens. His
father relocated the family to Jefferson, New York about 1892 where he was a
farmer. William married to Laura Mabel Shutts on 15 February 1905 at Stamford. They
made their home first at Kortright, New York where he was a creamery worker.
They relocated to Stamford about 1908 where he was the owner and operator of a
dairy farm. Mabel and William were the parents of one child, Helen Jeanette
Pickens. William was buried at Stamford Cemetery at Stamford. His wife was
buried next to him upon her death in 1961. William was the husband of my second cousin
twice removed.
