Philip was
the son of John J. Titus and Ann Hendrick Van Keuren Titus. He
was raised at Montgomery where his father was a freight agent and later a
railroad baggage master. Philip married to Mary More Marvin on 5 November 1890
at Walton. They made their home first at Walton where he was a yard master.
They relocated to Middletown, New York about 1900 where he was a railroad conductor. They
relocated again about 1905 to Kingston, New York where he was a railroad
conductor. After 53-years of service to New York Western and Ontario Rail Road,
he retired and made his permanent home at Walton. He died suddenly at his home
not long after. Philip was remembered as a quiet man, having a fine sense of
humor, a high sense of integrity, and a faithfulness to duty. Philip and Mary
were the parents of three children; Marvin Sinclair Titus, Elinor More Titus,
and Philip Sheridan Titus, Jr. He was John More Association David Line cousin
#M7412 and the husband of my third cousin three times removed. Philip was
buried at Walton Cemetery in a Titus family plot where his brother, Charles H.
Titus, was buried just one year earlier.
