Ralph Wardell Taylor, Sr.

Died 18 September 1987 at Cooperstown, Otsego County, New York

Ralph was the eldest of five children born to Olan Rice Taylor and Ethel Jenkins Taylor. He was raised on the family farm at Pines Brook at Walton. He graduated in 1931 from the State Institute (State University of New York – Agricultural Technology College at Delhi, New York). Ralph married to Helen Jeanette Pickens on 23 March 1932 at Oneonta, New York. They made their home first at Stamford, New York where he was the owner and operator of a farm. They relocated to Walton in 1949; the same year that Ralph’s father died and the same year that Ralph was elected president of State Institute Alumni Association. He was also a member of Delaware County Jersey Cattle Club and was active in 4-H. Ralph and Helen were the parents of one child, a son. Ralph was John More Association Jonas Line cousin #M422151 and the husband of my third cousin once removed. Ralph was buried at Walton Cemetery.
