Ralph Winfield Welton

Born 11 November 1924 at Walton, Delaware County, New York
Died 23 October 1992 at Brewerton, Onondaga County, New York

Ralph was the son of Allen Marion Welton and Katherine Mae Beers Welton. He was raised at Tompkins, New York where his father was first a farm laborer and later a stationary fireman at a creamery. Ralph was a 1941 graduate of Walton High School and served in the United States Army from 1942 through 1945. Ralph was employed by Kayser Silk Mill at Walton when he married to Jean Harriet Schloss on 29 June 1946 at Walton. She, too, was a resident of Walton and employed by Kayser Silk Mill. Ralph’s brother, Allen Eugene Schloss, married to Jean’s twin sister, June Helen Schloss, on the same day in a double wedding ceremony. The date was also the 25th wedding anniversary of the brides’ parents. Ralph and Jean made their home at Walton, relocating to Brewerton before 1992. Ralph and Jean were the parents of two children, a daughter and a son. Ralph was John More Association Jean Line cousin #M552323 and the husband of my fifth cousin once removed. He was buried in a Schloss/Welton family plot at Walton Cemetery.
