Aubrey Clark More

Born 2 April 1907 at Beerstown, Delaware County, New York
Died 19 April 1991 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York

Aubrey was the fourth of five children born to Lewis Cone More and Florence Julia Love More. He was raised at Beerston, a community within the Town of Walton, where his father was the owner and operator of a farm. The family relocated to Fishkill, New York in 1927 where his father was superintendent of farms for Henry Morganthau. Aubrey graduated, in 1930, from Westminster College at New Wilmington, Pennsylvania where he played intra-mural basketball and was a member of Epsilon Theta Pi. Aubrey was a teacher residing at New Hamburg, New York when he married to Bernice E. Alexander on 30 June 1932 at Walton, New York. Bernice was a teacher residing at Walton. They made their home first at Fishkill where he was the principal at Union Free School District. In 1942, he was a teacher at nearby Wappingers Falls, New York and was employed by NYR Corp. They relocated to Rochester, New York about 1952 when he accepted a position with Kodak Park Works of Eastman Kodak Company. He retired in 1967 as Senior Staff Assistant in the Training Department of that same company. Aubrey and Bernice had no children. Rochester was their last place of residence but John More Association records indicate that he died at Walton. Aubrey, and two years later his wife, were buried at Walton Cemetery. He was my third cousin three times removed.

I found no grave marker for Aubrey when I visited the cemetery on 10 August 2015.
