Myron Hezekiah More

Born 25 June 1897 at Beerston, Delaware County, New York
Died 10 July 1991 at Eaton, Madison County, New York

Myron was the first of five children born to Lewis Cone More and Julia Florence Love More. He was raised at Beerston, a community in the Town of Walton, New York, where his father was the owner and operator of a farm. He graduated from Delhi State School of Agriculture and Domestic Science at Delhi, New York in 1918. He worked with his father for several years and, in the summer of 1920, he traveled to Camas, Montana to visit an uncle and then spent some time at Auburn, Washington. He wintered at Santa Barbara, California about 1922 and also visited Mexico, Florida, and eastern Atlantic states before returning to Walton. Myron resided at Hobart, New York and worked on a farm when he married to Alice Amanda Dayton on 29 December 1923 at North Harpersfield, New York. Alice was an office worker residing at North Harpersfield when they married. They made their home first at Stamford, New York. It was here, in 1925, that their first child, Marjorie Louise More, was stillborn. Myron and Alice relocated almost right away to Hamden, New York where he was a farm laborer and relocated to Walton in 1926 where he was engaged at a feed store. He was active in his community as a member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Number 824 at Walton. They relocated late in 1930 to Franklin, New York where he was the owner and operator of a dairy farm. Sometime after 1950, they relocated to Holmesville, a hamlet in New Berlin, New York. Myron and Alice were the parents of five children; four daughters and one son. Alice died in 1973 and Myron married next to widow Harriet Minerva Tripp Lewis on 12 September 1976 at Sherburne, New York. Myron and Harriet had no children. Sometime after their marriage, Myron and Harriet relocated to Madison County, New York. Harriet died at Hamilton, New York on 7 June 1991 and Myron died a month later at Eaton. Myron was buried next to his first wife at Walton Cemetery. He was my third cousin three times removed.
