Mary Harriet Alverson More

Mary was the daughter of Thomas Alverson and Elizabeth B. Fitch Alverson. She was raised at Walton where, presumably, her father was a farmer. Mary married to Hezekiah More on 13 October 1851 at Walton. They lived their first years of married life on a farm on East Brook. In 1866, they purchased, and relocated to, the old Alverson homestead at Beerston, a community in the Town of Walton, where her husband was a prominent farmer. Mary and Hezekiah were the parents of six children; Elizabeth Gould More, Harriet Eliza More, Mary Frances More, George T. More, Edwin Gould More, and Lewis Cone More. Mary was buried in a More family plot at Walton Cemetery where later her husband would be buried as well as most of her children. She was the wife of my first cousin five times removed.
