John Milton Seacord

Born 18 May 1881 at Batavia, Genesee County, New York
Died 25 November 1928 at Erie, Erie County, Pennsylvania

John was the first of three sons born to John More Seacord and Amanda Jane Hopkins Seacord. He was raised at Batavia where his father was a pipe manufacturer, then a dealer of farm tools, and then a shipping clerk. John began his employment as a bookkeeper in 1900 and, in 1905, he was a sales manager. John married to Harriet Pearl Conarroe on 26 March 1907 at New York City. They made their home first at Memphis, Tennessee where their only child was born; Douglas Earl Seacord. The family relocated to West Seneca, New York about 1910 where John was an inspector. They relocated again about 1915 to Buffalo, New York where he was a government inspector. They relocated permanently to Erie about 1916 where John was engaged by the United States Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry as a meat inspector at Armour & Company. John died at his home on Cherry Street after three days ill from influenza. He was buried at Grand View Cemetery in his boyhood home of Batavia. John was John More Association Edward Line cousin #8541 and my third cousin three times removed.
Note-
His name was found as John M. Seacord, Jr. in many records or as John Milton Seacord, Jr. However, the John More Association family records indicate that his father’s name was John More Seacord.
