Elizabeth Benham Kuhlmann



Born 27 March 1862 at South Valley, Otsego County, New York
Died 26 November 1937 at Prattsville, Greene County, New York

Elizabeth was the first of three children born to Martinus L. Benham and Catharine H. More Benham. She was raised first at South Valley, a hamlet on the south side of Roseboom, New York, where her father was the owner and operator of a farm. The family relocated to Newark Valley, New York about 1870 where her father was the owner and operator of a farm and also a bookkeeper. Elizabeth married to John Frederick Kuhlmann, Junior on 27 September 1905 at Newark Valley. Her husband was more commonly known as J. Frederick Kuhlmann. They made their home first at Gloversville, New York where they were both glove silkers. They relocated to Prattsville about 1915 where her husband was first a poulterer and later a creamery machinist. Elizabeth and John had no children. Elizabeth was John More Association John Line cousin #1521 and my third cousin three times removed. She was buried at Ferndale Cemetery at Johnstown, New York.
