Andrew Ernest Krause

Andrew was the youngest of four children born to German immigrant, Paul Gerhard Krause, and New Jersey native, Florence Elizabeth Sophie Bretz Krause. In the year before Andrew was born, the family resided at 2404 Amsterdam Street at Manhattan, New York where his father was a clerical worker. Andrew's father was a bookkeeper for Knickerbocker Ice Company from about 1917 until about 1942. I did not find Andrew in any record from the time of his birth until 1944 when he was classified as a skilled mechanic or repairman upon his enlistment for service during World War II in the United States Army. He was discharged in 1946. Andrew married to Reta Letha Smith on 9 May 1953 at the United Presbyterian Church at Walton. They made their home first at Long Island City, New York and, about 1961, they resided at Bronx, New York. They relocated permanently to Apalachin about 1970. Andrew and Reta were the parents of three children, two sons and one daughter. He was buried at Walton Cemetery. Andrew was the husband of my fifth cousin once removed.
