Elizabeth Sinclair Hanford

Died 2 December 1865 at Walton, Delaware County, New York

Elizabeth was the second of five children born to Hector Sinclair and Anna More Sinclair. She was raised at Stamford until her father’s death in 1846. Her mother relocated the family to Walton, where they resided with Elizabeth’s maternal grandparents, David More and Elizabeth Gould More, and her maternal uncles, William Pitt More and Andrew More. Elizabeth married to William Sheldon Hanford on 11 October 1859 presumably at Walton. They made their home at Walton where her husband was first a farmer and later a merchant. Elizabeth and William were the parents of one child, Anna Hanford. Elizabeth died of quick consumption and was buried at Walton Cemetery where her husband joined her five months later and their daughter joined them in 1899. Elizabeth was my second cousin four times removed.
