Ella was the
daughter of English immigrant, Charles J. Grover, and New Hampshire native, Eliza
Beam True Grover. She was raised at Walton where her father
was a tanner. Ella married to Charles Truman Guild on 18 February 1896 at
Walton. They made their home on North Street at that place. They relocated to
St. John Street at Walton about 1920. Her husband died in 1922 and she relocated
to Queens, New York where she operated a small boarding house. Sometime after
1930, she relocated to Ballston Spa where her residence was near that of her
son, Archie, at Saratoga Springs, New York. She was active in the work of the
Episcopal Church and was remembered as capable and cheerful as she managed her affairs. Charles and Ella were the parents of four children; Edwin
More Guild, Archibald Taylor Guild, Harriet Elizabeth Guild, and Abram True
Guild. After his mother's death, Abram was known as Charles True Guild. Ella was buried in a Guild family plot at Walton Cemetery with her
husband. Ella was the wife of my second cousin four times removed.
