Anna Guild Tobey Marvin

Born 28 May 1884 at Walton, Delaware County, New York
Died 12 March 1953 at Walton, Delaware County, New York

Anna was the daughter of Henrie Clinton Tobey and Harriet Elizabeth Guild Tobey. She was a life-long resident of Walton where her father was first a merchant and later a Rural Free Delivery mail carrier. Anna resided on Liberty Street and was engaged as a drug store clerk when she married to Harry Fitch Marvin on 26 May 1908 at Walton. He was first a bank clerk and later established and operated an insurance company. After her husband’s death in 1937, she and their son Matthew assumed responsibility for the insurance company. Anna was a member of First Congregational Church and the Historical Society and was chairman of the scholastic fund of Walton High School Alumni Association. Anna and Harry were the parents of four children; Reinold Marvin, Isabel Marvin, Matthew Marvin, and Harriet Marvin. Anna died at her home after an illness of several months. She was buried next to her husband in a Marvin family plot at Walton Cemetery. She was the wife of my third cousin three times removed.
